Department of Horticultural Science

The Department of Horticultural Science at the University of Minnesota houses several researchers who are involved in high tunnels work in Minnesota. They collaborate extensively with Extension faculty and with researchers based at the Research and Outreach Centers.

Dr. Emily Hoover, Department Head, assists with coordination of high tunnels research across the state, and is directly involved in the bramble fruit research at Morris, MN.

Emily Tepe, Research Fellow, is directly involved in ongoing research projects at Morris, MN and other locations.

Dr. Carl Rosen, horticulture and soil scientist, is involved in studying ways to maintain soil fertility in high tunnels.

Dr. Karl Foord, Extension economist, researches the economics of high tunnel production and marketing.
