North Central
Research & Outreach Center

Extensive University of Minnesota high tunnel research started in 2002 with the purchase of two 21’x 48’ high tunnels at the North Central Research and Outreach center in Grand Rapids Minnesota.

Research topics include determinate and indeterminate tomato cultivar trials, training and pruning experiments, controlled release fertilizer-soil fertility studies, and perennial crop- primocane-fruiting raspberry experiments. We will continue our high tunnel primocane-fruiting raspberry research and start high tunnel primocane-fruiting blackberry production in 2009.
